Thanks for calling at my web site, my name is Bob. In 1997 at the age of 43 I had a heart attack. I didn't have much warning, just an angina pain in my arm. The problem was I didn’t know what angina felt like before then, so I wasn’t sure why I felt so ill. |

I’m one of many people in England to suffer heart disease and like them I need to make life changes to try and slow down its effects. After my heart attack I had an angiogram, which led to angioplasty and stenting in an artery of my heart. |

In September 2000, I had a quadruple heart by-pass operation which is healing well and I am now back at work as a Human Resource Adviser with a major Aerospace company. Normality to me, means doing what I did before my illness and being able to adequately provide for Angela and Ian, my wife and son. |

Through Community based cardiac rehabilitation, I believe I will be able to. If you have heart disease, or care for someone who has, or you have an interest in cardiac matters, then please read on. I went back to work on Monday 15th January 2001 - full time. Now I do overtime and have had a travel restriction lifted. I can drive , use public transport and fly. The Cardiologist says that I can now lead a normal life, just like everyone else. That is what CABG is all about - returning to a normal life. |

Many people though, find normality not very easy to accept after such trauma, this is where support groups come in - please follow the link. |
