Personal detail

I was Born in 1954, married to Angela in 1977 and we have a son called Ian born in 1981. Ian is a drummer and plays for a Manchester group called ‘Blue Tooth’. He has also had many musical successful when a member of the famous Smithills school brass band as a percussionist. In their concert band he played clarinet. The Brass Band won the School World Championship title in 1997 along with many other national titles. They have toured Norway, Holland, France, Japan and America.

I work as a human resource adviser for Matra BAe Dynamics. My wife Angela is an administration officer for the Community Health Council and Ian is studying a BSc (Hons) degree in Media Technology at Salford University.

As a Freemason (a member of Anchor and Hope Lodge No 37 in the Province of East Lancashire, a member of Concorde Chapter, and a member of the St Peter’s Chapter of Princes Rose Croix of Heredom) I believe in giving support to charities and those less fortunate than me. Freemasons donate a lot of their personal income to various Masonic and non-Masonic charities. My personal priority for charitable donations are: the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK.

I have a great interest in History having gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in European history, culture and belief. I specifically like to study Masonic history, Scottish history, Egyptian history and the history of religion.

My family belongs to the Farquharson clan, which has a proud ancestry. The clan has the tartan pictured left, which is the modern version. There is also an ancient design.

For anyone who is interested in the origins of Freemasonry, connexions with the Knights Templar and the Rosicrucians can I suggest a visit to Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland - an excellent example of Masonic design, in a region which is the home of the Scottish Masonic Mother Lodge.
